Studio Kink is a Sydney-based educational space (established in 2015) formed by Mark, Aleni and Lani De Viate and a few friends.
Studio Kink is a space for people from across the kink community. It's primarily a space for education, to run classes and workshops that cover a range of topics, from rope to D/s, health and safety to alternative relationship structures, and everything in-between.
Over the past 5 years we have built a space with the community by engaging the different groups in the gay, queer, trans, bi, BDSM and fetish communities in Sydney. We have entered multiple Sydney Mardi Gras Parades, supported Bobby Goldsmith Foundation, Twenty10 and numerous other community charities and groups. In that time we have also taught over 5,000 beginners in Shibari and BDSM topics with an emphasis on informed consent, negotiations and understanding people’s limits.
Our achievements now have Studio Kink recognised as the premier kink teaching venue in Australia, as well as having an international profile of excellence in Shibari, culminating in being the first Kanna Ryu Shibari Studio in the world.
Mark and Lani De Viate are world-renowned shibari performers. They have performed regularly at Subsonic Music Festival, The Sydney Hellfire Club, and many other events in Australia. Their international appearances include the New Zealand Fetish Ball, The Japan Fetish Ball and the LA Fetish Ball. Other events they have featured at include Shibaricon (Chicago), Folsom Fringe (San Francisco) and Ropecraft. This dynamic duo have performed and presented at events around Australia – and the globe for almost 15 years.
The Studio Kink crew is made up of experienced performers and educators that feature different and unique styles, including aerial acrobatics with transitions, sensual rope, with an emphasis on energy and connection.
Our performances captivate our audience’s with a mesmerising combination of movement, grace, strength, beauty and trust.
